Frequently asked questions
Buying from the USA
Why buy used heavy equipment from the USA?
The United States has the world's deepest supply of well-maintained used equipment: large contractor and rental fleets, strict maintenance standards, verifiable service records, and honest hour meters. Combined with port access on the Gulf, East and West coasts, that means strong selection and competitive landed prices.
Is MOLAI EQUIPMENT a broker or a dealer?
A principal dealer. We own the machines we sell, so the unit you see is the unit you get, priced dealer-direct with no middleman markup.
How do I know a machine's hours are genuine?
US fleet machines usually carry service records tied to the serial number, and many modern machines have factory telematics (CAT VisionLink, Komatsu KOMTRAX) that record hours independently of the dash meter. We verify against these wherever the data exists and share what we find.
Can I inspect a machine before paying?
Yes. We provide full photo sets, walk-around video and service history on request, and we welcome third-party inspections (SGS, Bureau Veritas, or your own agent) at the machine's location before you commit.
Shipping and export
How is heavy equipment shipped overseas from the USA?
Three ways: containerized (machines under roughly 20 tons, often on 40ft flat-racks), Ro-Ro (self-propelled machines driven aboard - usually cheapest for dozers, loaders and trucks), and break-bulk (dismantled cranes and oversize machines lifted aboard). We quote whichever gives the best all-in price for your machine and destination.
Which US ports do you ship from?
Whichever is nearest the machine: Houston, Jacksonville, Savannah, Charleston, Baltimore and Newark on the Gulf and East coasts; Long Beach, Oakland and Tacoma on the West coast.
How long does delivery take?
Allow 1-2 weeks for inland transport and port handling, then ocean transit: roughly 2-3 weeks to Latin America, 3-4 weeks to West Africa, 4-5 weeks to the Middle East, 5-6 weeks to South Asia.
What documents do I receive with an exported machine?
Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, and certificate of origin where required - plus title or a certificate of destruction of title for trucks. You receive scanned copies before the vessel sails and originals by courier.
Who clears the machine at my port?
Standard terms are CFR/CIF: we deliver to your port, and your customs broker clears the import under your country's rules. We supply every document your broker needs, and we can recommend brokers in many markets.
Pricing and payment
What does an all-in price include?
The machine, inland transport to port, export documentation, loading, and ocean freight to your named port. The number we quote is the number you pay - no surprise charges later.
How do I pay?
Bank wire transfer (TT) to our US business account. Typical terms are a deposit to reserve the machine and balance before shipment; letters of credit are possible on larger transactions.
Are prices negotiable?
Our listings are priced to move, but serious offers on in-stock machines always get an answer the same day - especially on multiple-unit deals.
Sourcing
What if the machine I need isn't on the stock list?
Send us the make, model, year range, hour limit and budget. We buy from contractors, rental fleets and auctions across the United States every week, and we will find the machine and quote it landed at your port.
Can you buy a specific machine I found at a US auction?
Yes. We can inspect, bid, buy and export machines from US auctions on your behalf - often for less than the auction's own export services charge.
